Overweight in infants or children up to 5 years of age (Q88610)

From determinar.ia.br - Determine suas informações
Children aged 0 to 5 years (0 to 60 completed months) are overweight if weight-for-length/height or body mass index (BMI)-for-age is above 2 and less than or equal to 3 standard deviations of the median (z-score) of the WHO Child Growth Standards [http://www.who.int/childgrowth/en/]. In the percentile system this corresponds to above percentile 97.7 and less than or equal to percentile 99.9. Body mass index (BMI) is calculated as weight (kg) divided by length/height² (m²). When assessing length/height, infants and children under 24 months of age should be measured supine or lying down (length), while children 24 months of age and older should be measured standing up (height). In children 24 months and older that cannot stand up (e.g., disabilities, uncooperative children) and are measured lying down, the length measurement should be converted to height by subtracting 0.7 cm (the average difference between length and height in the WHO Child Growth Standards).
