A disease of the meninges caused by an infection with Junin virus. This disease is characterised by fever, neck pain, and neurological deficits. Transmission is through haematogenous spread to the meninges after inhalation, consumption, or direct contact with excretions and body fluids from infected rodents. Confirmation is by identification of Junin virus.
