A apresentação clínica pode incluir cãibras musculares, fasciculações, mioquimia (movimentos ondulantes da superfície da pele) e pseudomiotonia (relaxamento retardado após uma contração). Existem muitas síndromes de hiperexcitabilidade de nervos periféricos, com patogênese diferente que inclui distúrbios genéticos e adquiridos. The clinical presentation can include muscle cramps, fasciculations, myokymia (undulating movements of the skin surface), and pseudomyotonia (delayed relaxation after a contraction). There are many peripheral nerve hyperexcitability syndromes, with different pathogenesis that include both genetic and acquired disorders.
