Inflamação dos paquimeninges resultando em espessamento localizado ou difuso da dura-máter causado por infiltração carcinomatosa, leucêmica ou linfomatosa. A dura-máter craniana e / ou espinhal pode ser afetada. As características neurológicas incluem cefaleia, distúrbio visual, paralisia dos nervos cranianos, ataxia e com envolvimento medular, fraqueza dos membros, déficit sensitivo e distúrbios esfincterianos. O diagnóstico pode ser auxiliado por neuroimagem, análise do líquido cefalorraquiano e biópsia dural. | |||||||||||||||

Inflammation of the pachymeninges resulting in localised or diffuse thickening of the dura mater caused by carcinomatous, leukaemic or lymphomatous infiltration. The cranial and/or the spinal dura may be affected. Neurological features includes headache, visual disturbance, cranial nerve palsies, ataxia and with spinal involvement, limb weakness, sensory impairment and sphincter disturbances . Diagnosis may be aided by neuroimaging, spinal fluid analysis and dural biopsy. | |||||||||||||||
