Symptomatic secondary syphilitic gastritis is uncommon, occurring in less than 1% of patients with syphilis in the antibiotic era. The most common symptoms include nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain and anorexia; rarely, acute bleeding, gastric perforation and/or obstruction may occur.
