Callosities of hands or fingers (Q93003)
From determinar.ia.br - Determine suas informações
Callosities on the hands and fingers may be due to a large variety of repetitive actions which result in focal friction and pressure. They are often occupational (e.g. from use of hand tools such as planes and screw-drivers) but can result from sporting and leisure activities (e.g. rowing, weight-lifting, gardening, violin or guitar-playing) or from everyday tasks such as holding a pen. They may also result from habit tics in which skin is repeatedly picked or bitten. Commonly affected sites include the distal palms, the palmar surfaces of the fingers and fingertips and the sides of the fingers.
