The autoimmune hyperexcitability syndrome with continuous muscle fibre activity (CMFA), is a rare neuromuscular syndrome characterised by muscle weakness, often myokymia, CMFA, at times a cramp and fasciculation syndrome and autonomic features. Paraesthesia and hyperhydrosis are also common. Also CNS symptoms can be associated in Morvan`s syndrome. It can appear both as an autoimmune- and a paraneoplastic disease. An association with thymoma exists. The disease is often antibody mediated in particular with potassium channel antibodies (VGKC) and anti-CASPR2. It responds to symptomatic therapy and immune therapies.
