Focal cutaneous mucinosis presents as a solitary, asymptomatic, flesh-coloured papule or nodule that can occur on the face, trunk or extremities. Histologically, there is localised accumulation of mucin in the dermis with an increased number of fibroblasts. Focal cutaneous mucinosis also forms part of the Birt–Hogg–Dubé syndrome.
