Benign gastrointestinal stromal tumour of small intestine (Q64354)

This is a benign mesenchymal tumour that arises from cells lining the small intestine. It is generally immunohitochemically positive for KIT (CD117), phenotypically paralleling Cajal-cell differentiation, and most examples contain KIT- or PDGFRA-activating mutations.
