A condition characterised by Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR) <60 or presence of kidney damage that is present for more than 3 months in which there is associated increase in blood levels of biologically active parathyroid hormone (intact PTH) above normal levels of 10-65 pg/mL or 10-65 ng/L.
