Diabetic scleroedema is probably the most common from of scleroedema though is often not recognised. It is associated particularly with obese type II diabetics. The back of the neck and shoulders are usually the most prominently affected areas. It tends to be persistent but is often asymptomatic. Always assign an additional code for the type of diabetes mellitus.
