Refractive amblyopia is reduced best-corrected vision in one or both eyes without structural abnormalities of the eye or visual pathways. The causes are unequal refractive error between the eyes (anisometropia), high refractive error in one or both eyes, and/or large astigmatism in one or both eyes.
