Doença vascular comum da retina em idosos. É causada pela oclusão de um dos ramos da veia central da retina. Esse diagnóstico quando há a formação de redes microvasculares funcionais com perfusão de hemácias. A neovascularização difere da angiogênese porque a angiogênese é caracterizada principalmente pela protrusão e crescimento de botões capilares e brotos de vasos sanguíneos preexistentes.

This is a common retinal vascular disease of the elderly. It is caused by the occlusion of one of the branches of central retinal vein. This diagnosis is with the formation of functional microvascular networks with red blood cell perfusion. Neovascularization differs from angiogenesis in that angiogenesis is mainly characterised by the protrusion and outgrowth of capillary buds and sprouts from pre-existing blood vessels.
