Lower motor neuron disease may develop following radiotherapy of tumours situated in proximity to the spinal cord. The lower limbs are most frequently affected and the disease most commonly occurs in younger-aged male patients. The onset of motor neuron disease may be significantly delayed from the radiation treatment.
