Cervical dystonia, also known as spasmodic torticollis, is a focal dystonia of the neck. It may result in a variety of abnormal neck positions. These consist of rotation (torticollis), extension (retrocollis), lateral tilt (laterocollis), or flexion (anterocollis). The movements may be sustained (tonic), jerky (clonic), or a combination, and may be associated with pain.
