Distonia é um transtorno de contrações musculares involuntárias, que frequentemente aparecem como posturas anormais, torções corporais ou movimentos musculares repetitivos. O tronco e os membros são comumente afetados. Por ser primária e familiar, a distonia é a única anormalidade do sistema nervoso à parte de tremor e esse transtorno tem antecedente familiar.
