In systemic lupus erythematosus, immunoglobulin deposits including IgG, IgA and IgM (“full house” with complement components C3 and C1q) are found in sub-endothelial, intra- membranous and sub-epithelial positions. Light microscopic appearances in lupus glomerulonephritis are pleomorphic, and are sub-classified according to a regularly updated World Health Organisation I-VI grading system.
