A doença de Castleman pode estar associada à neuropatia periférica, que pode ser do tipo IgM, apresentando-se como uma neuropatia desmielinizante ou pode estar associada à síndrome POEMS. Especula-se que indivíduos com doença de Castleman podem, em associação com a síndrome POEMS, ter um risco maior de desenvolver complicações malignas, como Sarcoma de Kaposi ou linfoma maligno.

Castleman`s disease can be associated with peripheral neuropathy, which can either be of IgM type, presenting as a demyelinating neuropathy or can be associated with POEMS syndrome. It is being speculated that individuals with Castleman's disease may in association with POEMS syndrome have a greater risk of developing malignant complications such as Kaposi's Sarcoma or malignant lymphoma.
