This is an unusual susceptibility to bleeding (haemorrhage) mostly due to hypocoagulability, in turn caused by a coagulopathy (a defect in the system of coagulation). This diagnosis is due to a deficiency in the glycoprotein receptor for collagen which is expressed in platelets.
