Líquen plano penfigoide é caracterizado por bolhas que aparecem em pápulas e placas de líquen plano ou pele não envolvida de pacientes com líquen plano. A histopatologia mostra ambas manifestações de líquen plano e fenda subepidérmica. Os estudos de imunopatologia são idênticos aos do penfigoide bolhoso, embora alguns epítopos de autoantígenos do penfigoide tenham sido associados ao líquen plano penfigoide. A condição tende a afetar uma faixa etária mais jovem em comparação com o penfigoide bolhoso e geralmente responde ao tratamento.

Lichen planus pemphigoides is characterised by bullae appearing on lichen planus papules and plaques or uninvolved skin of patients with lichen planus. Histopathology shows both features of lichen planus and subepidermal clefting. Immunopathology studies are identical to bullous pemphigoid, although certain epitopes of pemphigoid autoantigens have been associated with lichen planus pemphigoides. The condition tends to affect a younger age group compared with bullous pemphigoid and is usually responsive to treatment.
