This disease is characterised by damage to the brain myelin, and individuals may present with an altered mental state, limb weakness, headache, or lack of coordination. There should be supportive clinical, imaging and laboratory features of the disease without another identifiable cause of cognitive dysfunction. | |||

Dementia due to progressive multifocal leokoencephalopathy, a disease of the central nervous system caused by the reactivation of an infection with John Cunningham (JC) virus. This disease is characterised by damage to the brain myelin, and individuals may present with an altered mental state, limb weakness, headache, or lack of coordination. There should be supportive clinical, imaging and laboratory features of the disease without another identifiable cause of cognitive dysfunction.
