O comprimento cranial médio é significativamente aumentado e a sutura sagital maior do que o normal. Bossa frontal e protuberância occipital podem ocorrer dependendo da extensão da fusão prematura. Scaphocephaly is a form of nonsyndromic craniosynostosis characterised by premature fusion of the sagittal suture, resulting in compensatory anteroposterior elongation of the skull. The mean cranial length is significantly increased and the sagittal suture larger than normal. Frontal bossing and occipital bulging may occur depending on the extent of the premature fusion. Elevated intracranial pressure is rare and intelligence is usually normal. | |||

Scaphocephaly is a form of nonsyndromic craniosynostosis characterised by premature fusion of the sagittal suture, resulting in compensatory anteroposterior elongation of the skull. The mean cranial length is significantly increased and the sagittal suture larger than normal. Frontal bossing and occipital bulging may occur depending on the extent of the premature fusion. Elevated intracranial pressure is rare and intelligence is usually normal.
