These are benign cutaneous adnexal neoplasms with follicular differentiation. They may occasionally simulate basal cell carcinoma clinically. The tumours are typically small, firm, dome-shaped skin-coloured papules located on the cheeks, eyelids and around the nose. Numerous tumours may develop in the familial form (Multiple familial trichoepithelioma).
