Anti-synthetase syndrome with polymyositis is an inflammatory muscle disease associated with antisynthetase autoantibodies, being the anti-Jo-1 autoantibodies the most common anti-synthetase autoantibody. These patients have a constellation of symptoms, including myalgias, muscle weakness, and a combination of “core” symptoms, including interstitial lung disease, Raynaud phenomenon, seronegative arthritis of the distal joints, fever, mechanic’s hands, and a skin rash different from the heliotrope erythema seen in dermatomyositis.
