The triad of rheumatoid arthritis (RA), splenomegaly, and neutropaenia is called Felty's syndrome. Persistent neutropaenia (<2000/mm3) must be present, but the complete triad is not required for a diagnosis of Felty's syndrome because patients without splenomegaly resemble patients with full-blown Felty's syndrome in most clinical, serologic, and immunogenetic features.
