A neurite autoimune é um conceito baseado em observação sobre uma lesão inflamatória focal do sistema nervoso periférico envolvendo raízes nervosas, plexo nervoso ou nervos individuais. Os fatores precipitantes são infecções, doenças associadas como diabetes e intervenções cirúrgicas. A apresentação clínica costuma ser de início doloroso e está associada a um déficit motor ou sensitivo-motor variável, que geralmente melhora em grau variável com o tratamento.

Autoimmune neuritis is an observationally based concept on an inflammatory focal lesion of the peripheral nervous system involving nerve roots, nerve plexus or individual nerves. Precipitating factors are infections, associated diseases as diabetes and surgical interventions. Clinical presentation is often with a painful onset and it is associated with a variable motor or sensorimotor deficit, which usually improves to a variable extent with treatment.
