Acrokeratosis neoplastica is a rare acral psoriasiform dermatosis associated with internal malignancy, most frequently squamous cell carcinoma of the upper aerodigestive tract. It commonly presents before the malignancy has become apparent. It is characterised by symmetrical, scaly, violaceous plaques affecting the skin of the hands and feet with a prominent associated nail dystrophy. In severe cases blisters may form and the nails may be shed. Skin changes may spread to the helices of the ears, the nasal tip and the scalp, where alopecia may develop.
