Pâncreas anular é uma forma distinta de atresia duodenal em que a cabeça do pâncreas forma um anel em torno da segunda porção do duodeno. Durante o período neonatal, o quadro clínico é dominado por distensão epigástrica com vômitos, que são não biliares pois a obstrução costuma ser supra-vacteriana. Anormalidades cromossômicas estão presentes em um terço dos casos de pâncreas anular, com a trissomia do 21 (seguida pela trissomia do 18 e 13) sendo a anomalia mais frequentemente detectada. O pâncreas anular é uma embriopatia resultante de uma anomalia que ocorre no início (por volta da quarta semana) no desenvolvimento. | |||

Annular pancreas is a distinct form of duodenal atresia in which the head of the pancreas forms a ring around the second portion of the duodenum. During the neonatal period, the clinical picture is dominated by epigastric distension with vomiting, which is nonbilious as the obstruction is usually supra-vaterian. Chromosomal abnormalities are present in one-third of cases of annular pancreas, with trisomy 21 (followed by trisomy 18 and 13) being the most frequently detected anomaly.
