A congenital cardiovascular malformation in which one or more of the following connections is abnormal 1) the morphologically right atrium to the morphologically right ventricle, 2) the morphologically left atrium to the morphologically left ventricle, 3) the morphologically right ventricle to the pulmonary trunk, 4) the morphologically left ventricle to the aorta. This excludes codes for hearts with a univentricular atrioventricular connection (mitral atresia, tricuspid atresia and double inlet ventricle), as these are listed under Functionally Univentricular Heart.
