Glaucoma congênito primário é uma condição durante a infância precoce em que atraso do desenvolvimento e malformação da malha trabecular bloqueiam as rotas de drenagem do aquoso levando a elevação da pressão intraocular que causa o aumento do olho (buftalmo), edema corneano, roturas da Descemet, miopia e dano ao nervo óptico, frequentemente resultando em comprometimento visual grave ou cegueira.
