Ceratoses actínicas (CA) são áreas focais de proliferação e diferenciação anormais de queratinócitos induzidas por exposição crônica à radiação ultravioleta. São muito comuns em área exposta ao sol de indivíduos de pele clara que tiveram exposição excessiva à luz solar. Inicialmente pápulas escamosas planas, podem se tornar significativamente elevadas em relação à superfície da pele pela produção de queratina aderente densa ou como resultado de proliferação celular desregulada que pode progredir para franco carcinoma in situ ou carcinoma espinocelular invasivo.

Actinic keratoses (AKs) are focal areas of abnormal keratinocyte proliferation and differentiation induced by chronic exposure to ultraviolet radiation. They are very common on sun-exposed skin of fair-skinned individuals who have had excessive exposure to sunlight. Initially flat scaly papules, they may become significantly elevated from the skin surface by producing dense adherent keratin or as a result of unregulated cellular proliferation which may progress to frank carcinoma in situ or invasive squamous cell carcinoma.

Actinic keratoses (AKs) are focal areas of abnormal keratinocyte proliferation and differentiation induced by chronic exposure to ultraviolet radiation. They are very common on sun-exposed skin of fair-skinned individuals who have had excessive exposure to sunlight. Initially flat scaly papules, they may become significantly elevated from the skin surface by producing dense adherent keratin or as a result of unregulated cellular proliferation which may progress to frank carcinoma in situ or invasive squamous cell carcinoma.
