Pitiríase liquenoide é uma doença cutânea inflamatória incomum de etiologia desconhecida. Pode variar de uma forma crônica relativamente leve a uma forma fulminante com necrose da pele e sintomas constitucionais graves. A doença pode durar de apenas semanas a meses ou anos. A forma crônica manifesta-se como múltiplas pequenas pápulas planas descamativas assintomáticas localizadas predominantemente em tronco e membros proximais. As formas agudas apresentam o aparecimento abrupto de múltiplas pápulas na mesma distribuição que rapidamente progridem para bolhas hemorrágicas e ulceração.

Pityriasis lichenoides is an uncommon inflammatory skin disease of unknown aetiology. It can range from a relatively mild chronic form to a fulminant form with skin necrosis and severe constitutional symptoms. The disease can last from just weeks to months or years. The chronic form is manifest as multiple small flat asymptomatic scaly papules located predominantly on the trunk and proximal limbs. The acute forms present with the abrupt appearance of multiple papules in the same distribution which rapidly progress to haemorrhagic blisters and ulceration.
