Dermatite herpetiforme é uma pele imunobolhosa caracterizada por erupções recorrentes de pápulas, vesículas ou bolhas intensamente pruriginosas, que são tipicamente agrupadas simetricamente nas superfícies extensoras dos membros e nas nádegas e costas. As lesões primárias são frequentemente obscurecidas por escoriação. Uma resposta anormal não completamente compreendida ao glúten da dieta provoca a formação de autoanticorpos contra transglutaminases teciduais e epidérmicas e deposição granular de IgA em papilas dérmicas. A doença está fortemente associada à enteropatia sensível ao glúten, que pode variar de inflamação epitelial jejunal leve a atrofia total das vilosidades (doença celíaca). | |||

The primary lesions are frequently obscured by excoriation. An incompletely understood abnormal response to dietary gluten provokes the formation of autoantibodies to tissue and epidermal transglutaminases and granular deposition of IgA in dermal papillae.
