Lesão hepatocelular aguda que se desenvolve dentro de 1 a 20 semanas após o início do tratamento. As lesões histológicas consistem principalmente em necrose focal em ponte ou zonal, mas evidente inflamação lobular e do trato portal com hepatite por droga. Características extra-hepáticas de hipersensibilidade por droga incluindo erupção cutânea, linfadenopatia, eosinofilia ou outras manifestações sistêmicas são observadas em alguns casos.

This is an acute hepatocellular injury that develops within 1 to 20 weeks after starting treatment. The histological lesions consist mainly of focal, zonal or bridging necrosis, but lobular and portal tract inflammation evident with drug hepatitis. Extrahepatic features of drug hypersensitivity, including rash, lymphadenopathy, eosinophilia or other systemic features, are observed in some cases.
