Isquemia arterial mesentérica aguda se refere a estados de baixo fluxo da circulação mesentérica, nos quais o fluxo sanguíneo inadequado por meio da circulação mesentérica causa isquemia e eventual gangrena da parede intestinal. Pode ser causada por várias condições, tais como oclusão arterial, oclusão venosa, obstrução por estrangulamento e hipoperfusão associada a doenças vasculares não oclusivas.

It can be caused by various conditions such as arterial occlusion, venous occlusion, strangulating obstruction, and hypoperfusion associated with nonocclusive vascular diseases.
