Doença dos pulmões causada por infecção pela bactéria Gram positiva Streptococcus beta-hemolítico. A doença é caracterizada por início agudo de febre e calafrios, ou tremores. Apresenta-se com dor torácica, tosse produtiva, dispneia, taquipneia, hipóxia ou taquicardia. A transmissão se dá pela inalação de secreções respiratórias infectadas ou por contato direto.

This presents with chest pain, productive cough, dyspnoea, tachypnoea, hypoxia, or tachycardia. Transmission is by inhalation of infected inspiratory secretions, or direct contact.
