Todos os critérios diagnósticos para transtorno amnéstico são preenchidos. Os sintomas de memória são considerados consequência fisiopatológica direta de uma condição médica não classificada como transtornos mentais, comportamentais e do neurodesenvolvimento, com base em evidência de história, exame físico ou achados laboratoriais. Os sintomas não são mais bem explicados por delirium, demência, outro transtorno mental (p. ex. esquizofrenia ou outro transtorno psicótico primário, um transtorno de humor) ou pelos efeitos de um medicamento ou substância, incluindo os efeitos da abstinência. Os sintomas são graves o suficiente para serem um foco específico de atenção clínica. A condição médica etiológica identificada deve ser classificada separadamente.

The memory symptoms are judged to be the direct pathophysiological consequence of a medical condition not classified under mental, behavioural and neurodevelopmental disorders, based on evidence from the history, physical examination, or laboratory findings. The symptoms are not better explained by Delirium, Dementia, another mental disorder (e.g., Schizophrenia or Other Primary Psychotic Disorder, a Mood Disorder) or the effects of a medication or substance, including withdrawal effects. The symptoms are sufficiently severe to be a specific focus of clinical attention. The identified etiological medical condition should be classified separately.
