Carcinoma primário da glândula tireoide composto por células indiferenciadas. As células malignas mostram evidências de diferenciação epitelial por meio do estudo imuno-histoquímico ou da análise feita por microscopia eletrônica. Microscopicamente, na maioria dos casos há uma mistura de células fusiformes, epitelioides e gigantes. A grande maioria dos pacientes apresenta uma massa cervical que aumenta rapidamente. O curso clínico é invariavelmente agressivo. | |||

Microscopically, in the majority of cases there is a mixture of spindle, epithelioid, and giant cells. The vast majority of the patients present with a rapidly enlarging neck mass. The malignant cells demonstrate evidence of epithelial differentiation, either by immunohistochemistry or electron microscopic studies. Microscopically, in the majority of cases there is a mixture of spindle, epithelioid, and giant cells. The vast majority of the patients present with a rapidly enlarging neck mass. The clinical course is invariably aggressive.
