Ceratoacantoma é um tumor epidérmico queratinocítico relativamente comum que apresenta semelhanças com o carcinoma de células escamosas da pele, do qual pode ser difícil distinguir clínica ou histopatologicamente. É caracterizado por rápido crescimento, ao longo de algumas semanas a meses, seguido por resolução espontânea ao longo de 4-6 meses. Por não ser possível prever seu comportamento benigno com total certeza durante sua fase inicial de crescimento, a designação "Carcinoma de células escamosas bem diferenciado (tipo ceratoacantoma)" também é usada. | |||

Keratoacanthoma is a relatively common keratinocytic epidermal tumour which shows resemblances to squamous cell carcinoma of the skin, from which it may be difficult to distinguish either clinically or histopathologically. It is characterised by rapid growth over a few weeks to months, followed by spontaneous resolution over 4-6 months. Because it is not possible to predict its benign behaviour with complete certainty during its initial growth phase, the designation "Well-differentiated squamous cell carcinoma (keratoacanthoma type)" is also used. | |||

Keratoacanthoma is a relatively common keratinocytic epidermal tumour which shows resemblances to squamous cell carcinoma of the skin, from which it may be difficult to distinguish either clinically or histopathologically. It is characterised by rapid growth over a few weeks to months, followed by spontaneous resolution over 4-6 months. Because it is not possible to predict its benign behaviour with complete certainty during its initial growth phase, the designation "Well-differentiated squamous cell carcinoma (keratoacanthoma type)" is also used.
