Carcinoma que surge do epitélio do ducto biliar intra-hepático em qualquer localização da árvore biliar intra-hepática. Grosseiramente, as lesões malignas são sólidas, nodulares e acinzentadas. Morfologicamente, a grande maioria dos casos são adenocarcinomas. A detecção precoce é difícil e o prognóstico geralmente é ruim.
