Doença causada por uma infecção por Morbillivirus que é complicada por uma infecção das meninges. Esta doença é caracterizada por sintomas de sarampo assim como de inflamação das meninges. Esta doença também pode se manifestar com febre, vômito, letargia, confusão, dor muscular, fotofobia ou convulsões. A transmissão ocorre por disseminação hematogênica para as meninges após inalação de secreções respiratórias infectadas, transmissão aérea ou contato direto. A confirmação é feita pela detecção de RNA de Morbillivirus ou anticorpos IgM específicos para sarampo. | |||

A disease caused by an infection with Morbillivirus that is complicated by an infection of the meninges. This disease is characterised by symptoms of measles as well as inflammation of the meninges. This disease may also present with a fever, vomiting, lethargy, confusion, muscle pain, photophobia, or convulsions. Transmission is by haematogenous spread to the meninges after inhalation of infected respiratory secretions, airborne transmission, or direct contact.
