Doença geralmente causada por uma infecção pela bactéria gram-positiva Actinomyces. Esta doença é caracterizada por abscessos dolorosos na boca, pulmões e trato gastrointestinal. Actinomicose é uma infecção endógena cuja bactéria causal se origina da flora oral e faríngea do paciente. Pode se espalhar por contiguidade ou via hematogênica. A confirmação é feita pela identificação de Actinomyces em tecido infectado ou em amostras de fluido. | |||
