An infection of one or more cranial nerves by a fungus. The clinical features depend on which cranial nerve or nerves are affected. There may be other systemic signs and symptoms depending on the infectious agent. Diagnosis is made by considering the clinical findings in the context of neuroimaging, spinal fluid analysis and culture, polymerase chain reaction tests, serologic tests, and biopsy where appropriate.
