A estomatocitose hereditária desidratada é uma anemia hemolítica congênita rara com um padrão de herança dominante. Habitualmente, encontra-se bem compensada (anemia moderada, com contagem de reticulócitos elevada). Os esfregaços sanguineos mostram uma porcentagem variável de estomatócitos. A associação de macrocitose com uma concentração de hemoglobina corpuscular média aumentada é altamente sugestiva do diagnóstico dessa doença (DHS). | |||

Dehydrated hereditary stomatocytosis is a rare congenital haemolytic anaemia with a dominant inheritance pattern. It is usually well compensated (moderate anaemia, high reticulocyte count). Blood smears show a variable percentage of stomatocytes. The association of a macrocytosis and an increased mean cell haemoglobin concentration is highly evocative of DHS.
