Suas principais características são emagrecimento, apesar de uma ingestão calórica normal ou ligeiramente diminuída, e uma aparência alerta. A SD tem sido descrita quase exclusivamente em associação com lesões que ocupam espaço na região do quiasma óptico-hipotalâmico, principalmente astrocitoma pilocítico juvenil. | |||
