Quando avaliados pela Escala de Coma de Glasgow, pacientes que apresentam extensão anormal dos braços quando é aplicada estimulação nociva. Esta extensão anormal é caracterizada pela contração dos grupos musculares posteriores do braço e relaxamento dos músculos anteriores do braço, resultando em braços esticados, anteflexão dos ombros e flexão para longe da linha média dos punhos. A extensão também pode ser notada nas pernas. Pontuação M2.

When assessed by the Glasgow Coma Scale, patients who show abnormal extension of the arms when noxious stimulation is applied. This abnormal extension is characterised by the contraction of the muscle groups in the posterior arm and the relaxation of those in the anterior arm, resulting in the straightening of the arms, anteflexion of the shoulders and flexion away from the midline of the wrists. Extension can be noticed to the legs too. Scored M2
