Symmetric sensory neuropathy of varying degrees. Clinically distinct from sensory neuronopathy, where the loss of proprioception dominates and sensorimotor neuropathy. Sensory symptoms are distributed in a distal glove and stocking-like distribution. Sensory ataxia is less distinct compared to subacute sensory neuronopathy. Common neural antibodies in Paraneoplastic sensory neuropathy are: anti-Hu and anti-CV2/CRMP-5 (collapsin response mediator protein 5).
