Fungal infections can be associated with hepatitis, including the systemic mycoses or the invasive fungal infections which frequently result from iatrogenic complications of medical care. Liver abscess can also occur due to fungal infection. The most common causative agent is Candida albicans, Cryptococcus, Histoplasma, and Aspergillus.
