Demência devida a leucoencefalopatia multifocal progressiva, uma doença do sistema nervoso central causado pela reativação de uma infecção pelo vírus John Cunningham (JC). Essa doença é caracterizada por dano à mielina cerebral, e os indivíduos podem apresentar estado mental alterado, fraqueza de membros, cefaleia ou falta de coordenação. Deve haver manifestações clínicas, de exames de imagem e laboratoriais compatível com a doença sem outra causa identificável da disfunção cognitiva.

Dementia due to progressive multifocal leokoencephalopathy, a disease of the central nervous system caused by the reactivation of an infection with John Cunningham (JC) virus. This disease is characterised by damage to the brain myelin, and individuals may present with an altered mental state, limb weakness, headache, or lack of coordination. There should be supportive clinical, imaging and laboratory features of the disease without another identifiable cause of cognitive dysfunction.
