Dementia due to herpes encephalitis, a cerebral infection caused by herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV1). There may be symptoms of headaches, behavioural and cognitive dysfunction. There should be supportive clinical, imaging and laboratory features of the disease without another identifiable cause of cognitive dysfunction.
